Antonio’s verdict on our 5-0 win against Everton

The return of Antonio Conte to the benches, getting closer and closer

Antonio Conte described our five-star display against Everton as ‘amazing in many aspects’ as we toppled the Toffees 5-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday evening.

Harry Kane led the way with two goals, Heung-Min Son, Sergio Reguilon and an own goal completed the scoring as two goals in three minutes laid the foundations before three in 18 minutes either side of the break put us beyond reach.

At the other end, a commanding defensive performance ensured another clean sheet as Everton failed to register a shot on target.

Speaking to us pitchside afterwards, Antonio said: “It was an important win, a really good performance from my players, we played an amazing game in many aspects, scored five goals and created many chances to improve the score.

“At the same time, I’ve seen many positive situations. For sure, when we have more days to prepare the game, we have seen with my staff that it’s very difficult to play against us.

“What I liked tonight was the will, the desire to put onto the pitch the work that we are doing for every game. As I said before, it’s important for us to have more days, because this season I didn’t have the possibility to start with this team, especially during pre-season, when you have one month to work with the players to instil your ideas. Now, after four months and a half, I’m starting to see many, many things that we are trying to work on during the week.

“We have to enjoy tonight, because it’s right to enjoy, but at the same time, from tomorrow, we have to start to think about an important game against United (on Saturday), against a team we are fighting for a place in the Champions League.”

We think that even the most hardcore football betting fans didn’t expect this win to come this easy.
